Summer Hours Begin May 26, 2012!

The Moira Historical Association Museum will be open every Saturday this summer starting on May 26, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Other hours are by appointment.

Moira's Heritage Day Set for July 28, 2012

The Town of Moira Historical Association will celebrate its annual Heritage Day on Saturday, July 28, at the Moira Town Park on the corner of County Route 5 and Route 11. Preparations are underway with many new and regular events being planned this year.

This year's Heritage Day promises to be a day filled with activities for people of all ages. Please make plans to attend Moira's Festival in the Park on July 28th.

Mike Lahendro, who has served as Treasurer for the Association since it was formed in 2000, will be moving to Potsdam soon and has tendered his resignation. We are most grateful for his support over the years and wish him well in his new community.

Meetings will commence at 6:30 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for March 30, 2012, at the Nu2U Clothing store across from the museum.


February 18, 2012 - Decentralization Grant

The Moira Historical Association was presented with a $500 Decentralization Grant by the North Country Cultural Center for the Arts (NCCCA) located in Plattsburgh. The Grant is funded by the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) and is to be used to finance community activities in the Pavilion in the Park.

The following names have been added to our Memory Plaque since our last newsletter:

Donations in memory of a loved one may be made to the Town of Moira Historical Association. We have a Memory Plaque located in the museum on which a loved one's name is engraved for donations of $100 or more. Flowers and a small copper sign are planted in the Memory Garden for lesser amounts. Contact Janet Dana or Sue Robideau for more information.
